6 Hour Bezel Setting Workshop
In this class, we start by choosing a cabochon stone from the expansive studio collection. If you have your own stone that you want to work with, that can be an option also.
We then choose a shape and size for the silver ring band, size your finger, cut and file it to the correct profile, and solder it closed to make a ring.
We then use silver bezel wire to make the setting for the stone and solder it to a backplate. After filing and sanding the setting, we solder it to the ring band.
Next, everything is given a final cleanup and we set the stone.
If needed, we give a final polish and viola! You have a ring (or pendant) that you made yourself from start to finish!
This class takes around 6 hours and can be done as one longer day with an hour lunch break, or 2 shorter 3 hour sessions.
It is suitable for those with no metal smithing experience. If you already have some jewelry skills, this can be a new feather to add to your cap.
